Cinegreen Launch Event at PVR Plaza

CineGreen is an initiative launched by American Express, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, in association with PVR Nest, Samhita and Swechha. It is a year long school education initiative to be executed by our team across 70 schools, using the medium of film-making, workshops, eco-trails, development of urban gardens and forests to engage children in current social-environmental issues like Air pollution, Water Conservation and Urban Green Spaces.

We formally launched the program yesterday at PVR Plaza in Connaught Place, with over 300 young students and educators from over 15 schools, NGO’s and other institutions in attendance.

The mega event was packed with some extremely powerful performances led by students from The Foundation School, The Indian School and New Era Public School, and also featured a panel discussion titled ‘Future/s at Stake’ consisting of prominent voices in the field on environmental education including Madhu Bhatnagar, Head of environment and value education for The Shriram School, Neha Sinha from BNHS, Manisha from NineisMine, moderated by Vimlendu Jha from Swechha.

What an eventful morning it was, with an auditorium packed with students, future change-makers and educators, who took out time from their hectic school schedule to join in and be a part of the launch of ‘Cinegreen’ – a program focussed on Environmental Stewardship and Leadership.

We would like to thank Richa Anirudh, Host of Zindagi with Richa and RJ Big Heroes, for attending as Chief Guest of the event, and the entire team at PVRNest, Samhita and American Express for their support!

Team Swechha looks forward to working with 70 schools across the national capital, reaching out to 70,000 students through the year long program!
