The Learning Community Joint Event “Aazadi Unlimited” 2019 turned out to be one of the most eventful and energetic days ever! With 180 girls participating in the event, 200 people in total, the event was a delight! The five organisations from LC Delhi- Swechha India, The YP Foundation, JOSH, Chintan Environmental Research and Action Group, Feminist Approach to Technology came together with their girl leaders to conduct different activities and performances.The preparation for the event started a month ago. With enough hard work and team work, finally Aazadi Unlimited was a success!
The activities included in the event were- Painting competition from Josh, Games and painting from Chintan, Musical Chair from FAT, Sawaal Jawaab from the YP Foundation, Judo and Art and Craft from Swechha. After the activities, there were theatre and dance performances from FAT, TYPF, JOSH, and SWECHHA. The winners of the competition were also given gifts at the end of the show!
The theme for this year was chosen as “#Abnarokomujhe” from a wide range of ideas given by the LC girls. For the purpose of raising their voices, there was a photo booth for all the girls and the “paabandi web” where the girls had written their thoughts and wishes sharing “Mujhe kisse na roka jaaye?” (What is it that I don’t want to be restricted from?) They also were given different props with a message to use for the photo shoot.
The Swechha India team and the Learning Community team will be working towards the cause of restrictions, mobility and safety further. The programme will soon come to an end. Keep following the page Girls Can to know more!
