Upcycled Air Detox Planter Workshops and Installations with National Geographic

Swechha with the support of National Geographic has been developing upcycled air detox installations across different institutions such as, NGO’s, Schools, Resource Centers, etc. that primarily work with children and young people. Given Delhi’s grave air quality situation and the fact that the city has had to face a public health emergency in the last two years, these centers serve as a great tool to address and tackle the rising concern of poor air quality and inculcate a sense of active citizenship within young people who are the future change makers.

These installations are solely made from waste material and serve the purpose of absorbing harmful toxins whilst purifying the air around you. The plants used in these installations are hardy in nature, easy to maintain and are NASA certified indoor air purification plants.

The duration of the project is from April 2018 – March 2019.

Through the project Swechha has been conducting 1.5 hr – 2hr long workshops on urban gardening and upcycling with 20 different NGO’s, shelter homes and government schools across Delhi/NCR throughout the year.

As of now, Swechha has conducted workshops and has built installations at the following creative learning centers and schools with an engagement of over 1000 young students –
