Aruna currently works as a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Department of Development Studies – SOAS, University of London. She has a strong background in Natural Resource Governance, Sustainable Development, Institution Building, and Social Research. She holds an M.A. in Social work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and is pursuing her PhD in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. In the past Aruna has worked with institutions like IIM-Ahmedabad, SRISTI, TISS (Mumbai) and ISAP (New Delhi) on various national and international research / IB assignments. She has received multiple awards for her work – the Young Analyst Award by EU and DPG (Delhi), the prestigious M. K. Tata Prize and the NTPC gold medal for best research project at TISS, Mumbai, the Felix Scholarship Trust award for her PhD at SOAS are a few of them.
